Domaine de Tresbaudon
From a very early age I was always fascinated by the vines, and that is why I chose to focus my studies and my profession on viticulture.
The Domaine is situated in the Hautes-Alpes, a department better known for its apples than its wines! Nevertheless, it is perfectly possible to make good wine here.My father and my grandfather grew all kinds of fruit, like apples, pears or peaches, but I was only interested in the vines.
Once my studies were over, I gained practical experience in different Domaines in the region before creating my own exploitation.
From the beginning the Domaine has received accolades in different guides and competitions like the
Concours Général Agricole, the Concours National des Vins de Pays or the Hachette Wine Guide.
This year at the cellar you can discover the cuvee M de Manon 2015, which was awarded a gold medal, and our silver-medal winning Viognier 2015.

In 1996 ...
A FAMILY HERITAGE
It was in 1996 that I had the opportunity, with my wife Caroline, to take over the family farm. It was then that we transformed the fruit farm into a wine producing estate, and I was able to bring out my first vintage in 1999 with the red Tresbaudon.
The style of wines that I like to make is rather floral, with notes of almond and apricots. I aim to make wines that have body and texture.
When you drink a glass of wine you don’t even imagine the amount of work that has gone into it and all the multiple possibilities that wine offers. It was that which I really liked about winemaking, and what still continues to inspire me day after day.
IGP HAUTES ALPES
Domaine de Tresbaudon is a family estate that Caroline and Olivier RICARD inherited in 1996. They transformed Olivier’s parents fruit farm into a wine producing Domaine. It is situated at Tallard, by the river Durance, around 15 kilometres from Gap.
The different wines are made from Viognier, Chardonnay and small berry Muscat for the whites, and Syrah, Cinsault, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for the reds and the rosés.
Of the nine wines produced by the Domaine, five of them have special names:
- M de Manon, named after their eldest child
- L’Exception de Lou, for their second daughter
- Le Muscat de Tonin, for the youngest of the family
And to leave no-one out, Olivier created a red wine named “OR” for Olivier RICARD, and with his wife Caroline he created “Le Caprice de Caroline”, a lightly sweet rosé.
The Domaine produces wines using reasoned agricultural methods to respect the vines and the environment.
